At the end of the day I just chalk it up to Lucas being a bad writer. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now if they analyzed what he did with Red Tails, that would be a different story.
I haven't seen RED TAILS yet but, even if he is a bad writer, he is still potentially influecing many, many childrens opinions on others.
